I am a Consultant in Law and Social Policy (Criminology) with subject specialisms in Media and Entertainment Law and prison research.

I lecture in law at New College of the Humanities (Bedford Square, Bloomsbury, London) and Surrey University.

I was awarded a Visiting Professorship at the Max Planck Institute in Freiburg, Germany in 2001 in comparative criminal law and criminal justice systems with specific research in stalking and harassment legislation and public attitudes to crime.

My book publications include 'Media and Entertainment Law, 2nd ed.’ (2014),’Optimize Public Law’ (2014), '‘Law for Criminologists’ (2009), ‘Media Law for Journalists’ (2006), and ‘Grendon Tales: stories from a high security prison/ (2001).

I am a Magistrate on the Guildford Bench.
